Um, signature showing up as a link with img code?

So I just spent like, 20 minutes trying to put an image made for me into my signature and even though I use the [img] and [/img] codes outside of the direct link it just shows up as the link alone. What's up with this? No, I'm not stupid with html. It works perfectly fine when I post and I learned how to do this years ago but for some reason my CP screws it up.

Are you sure that when you upload the image directly to the forums that you're not messing with the SIG PIC code?

That's how it's gonna look, don't do anything in between the brackets.

Wait, there's a different code for sigs than image posts?
I'm trying to put it in manually that way.

They enforced that long ago. When was the last time you changed your sig before now?

Actually this is the first time I've tried putting an image in it with the code. So I have to upload it on here first instead ..?

Edit: Nevermind, I figured it out. Wow that was confusing hahahh. xD
