Do you have any programs running?(Other than audition)
I lag alot cuz of my brother who runs Maplestory/Limewire/Anti Virus Program/Aim. If you have limewire running thats probably, why your lagging. |

You should try turning off vsync.
It doubles your FPS. Search for the tutor to turn off vsync, its here somewhere on the forums... |

Another possibility would be a well-known issue that I thought was resolved but it may have not been, since I haven't really bothered playing full screen since windowed mode game out. It used to be after you attempted to start Audi, you couldn't do ANYTHING ELSE until it was fully loaded. If you did anything that caused the game to lose focus, it would immediately exit. Other than that, just make sure your laptop meets the minimum requirements (found at the download page). Keep in mind that these requirements are actually VERY optomistic, and even on my AMD Phenom 2.3ghz Quad Core with 3GB ram and a 1GB Geforce 9600GT, I still lag sometimes. Combined with the fact that laptops typically perform worse than traditional PCs, even when they appear to meet the requirements, and it may be that your laptop just isn't powerful enough. Even if your Laptop has a mobile ATI or nvidia graphics chipset on it, the key word there is "mobile". Chipset manufacturers have a lot less room to work with when dealing with laptops, so their products typically do not compare to their fuller-sized brethren in the traditional PC world. The typical laptop is more suited to word processing, web surfing, video watching, and simple tasks like that rather than playing fast paced 3d games. There are exceptions, but we're talking about the high-end "PC-Replacement" laptops. Which I somehow doubt you have based off your description of 5 frames per second. Also, I noticed that you said you recently "re-did" your laptop. Make sure that it has the proper and most current video drivers installed.
