thank you! but i meant the loud humming noise it makes from the fan. is THAT normal?
If beeping sound from BIOS didn't happen restart your computer.

Try to put a lil oil in that fan, (remove it first from your computer) and I guess it's normal to hear that just bump your computer frame sound will be gone in a few seconds.

How long you've been using that keyboard? Try cleaning it, there might be some crumbs in there.

I'm not really a techy person so I have no idea what to do. I find that I can't open up windows live messenger because of this error anymore. Does anyone else know what's wrong? I've tried googling, and I've done every step except for reinstalling everything (which I might resort to).

/edit: I have a silverlight update that refuses to cooperate, has been for the last year or so. It's forever unupdated.
/edit 2: I can't uninstall it either.
You can uninstall it via Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features and look for "Windows Live Essentials 2011".
Then download a new one (Click me)

@ BonnleBoo:
Just to add on what the GM said, also try to check if there are wires that are being hit by the fan blades. Be careful when you open your computer, touch a metal surface first to discharge your self of static charges.

@ Complexity
Could be a case of unstable internet connection, there is a problem between you and the update server. This happened to me when I was updating my antivirus from basic to pro. Happens all the time update fails around half or a few seconds near the ETA. I changed my internet connection and i was able to finish the update.

To uninstall the program try using Revo Uninstaller work better than the built-in uninstaller of programs, scans and deletes for leftover files left by the built-in uninstaller.

@ Everyone: Sorry for the super late reply. I went away for a while.
