well, you can download the trial version of adobe photoshop and explore it for 30 days. and when it expires, reinstall and uninstall it again, haha
if you want it to not expire, thats the time you'll have to pay. if you're not going to use it much then i suggest not. (but you'll use it a lot in later years of studying ) -
hmm, that's tricky from there. you need to use some programs in order to erase the background of the pic without "harming" the characters in the picture itself..
adobe photoshop is one of them -
