    Implement a forum chat box..
It would be more convenient for people who want to know what's up with the server,
plus it builds a more 'friendly' community that may possibly encourage more socialising . . . . . .

Next thing you know, they hire live 24/7 customer service support on the side too.
It would be cool though having that little pop up on the side and being able to chat with other forum people.
I do think too there needs to be like instead for phones a chatbox somewhere on top.

Make a private one for 1v1 talking, Public one for everyone to talk and finally a support one for.... well... support of course.

Would be good, waiting three - four days for a response by the ticket support system thing annoys me.
Sometimes even longer, with useless responses or the same thing copied and pasted twice.

That's a great idea. Other side chat sites have been made to direct the forums to talk there but they've always died. It would be most effective if a chat plugin was installed here instead. Now is the time more than ever for an up to date function like that. PMing is alright , but I can see how that'd be a hassle especially to new users and for the fact that it IS an outdated method to communicate LOL. Our forums is powered by vbulletin and there's a chat plugin specifically for vb sites : https://www.cometchat.com/vbulletin-chat . Pretty much has every feature you could think of laid out on different plans (translators , screen sharing etc. The demo is pretty neat so you can see how it would look) so DEFINITELY going to be asking about this. This would be a helpful and great add-on!

Personally, I feel like the 1 on 1 chat part is a bit too much, the PMing system is fine as it is and though it is a bit old-fashioned, there is no problem with it (unless you wanted instant messaging).
Realistically speaking, I wouldn't want to or need to 1 on 1 chat with someone via forums, as there is such thing as Skype and other social media platforms i.e. Discord and so on.
Unless, of course it was to message a CA or something like that and I don't keep in contact with them as Forums is the best way to contact them by.

For sure, there should definitely be a public forum chat on the main page for everyone to be able to use.
I tried both types of the chat plug-ins, and it seemed a bit over the board. Although I completely agree with you when you say how PMing is outdated and it would be cool to have an updated function such as this ...
But I still stand by just having a public chat, no more and no less.. (though having a support chat tab may be helpful too)
The idea with translators and screen sharing also seems too technical and possibly unnecessary when it comes to a basic forum like what we currently have but I'm not saying it isn't a good implementation. The use of screen sharing would be helpful if someone were to have technical difficulties but if Redbana will purchase this, I feel like it would rarely be used (There's Teamviewer which most people use too..)

Yeah, I dont think we need all of those features but just listing them to show how reliable the plugin was if there were anymore suggestions about what to add to the forums, it's probably listed as a feature! The chatrooms and private IM chat would be the most used along with other basic sharing.

We do need some more opinions on this.

+1 good idea, much easier to ask for little things than make a post

I love the idea myself. There are some forums that use the combination of the private message system on Facebook mixed with that public Chat/inbox system as well. I'd prefer the public chat myself, but a real time messenger system on here wouldn't be half as bad.
