Just sort of concerned.. shouldn't the fan go higher than 40% when it's THAT hot? It idles under 50 degrees usually.

Most times I'll manually turn the fan up to 60-70 but I don't know if it's bad to keep it at that speed constantly.

no that's an ok temp. the GTX series cards are expected to run around 60-100c temps. my card for example is always around 60-70 idle and the only games that bump the temp to 100c is games like crysis. so don't worry too much, i mean lower temps = longer lifespans but that's still a long time, i think my gfx cards temp threshold is 120c max, urs is probably the same or a little less since you only have 1 GPU in the card not two like mine. the temp seems right i wouldn't worry bout it.

edit: sorry to answer the fan question, fan speed is your desire, the more you have the fan at 100% the higher your electricity bill LOL, but having ur fan at 100% will keep it cooler thus reserving life span of the card and these GTX fans tend to get pretty noisy, i've been happy with my fan speed set to "auto" which is usually around 40% fan speed, if im playing a gfx intense game i manually change it to 70-80% fan speed unless "auto" kicks it up for me. then again i'm using this little program called "evga precision" so it helps with fan speeds, im not sure if thats what ur using too, computers do get hot so it's expected these GTX cards do idle around 50-60c, so anything above 100c is getting close, so 50c is not hot for these cards just to clear that up lol.

usually in my experience watching the "auto" fan feature:
50-70c = 40-50% fan speed
80-90c = 70-80% fan speed
100c+ = 100% fan speed

Thanks for the info.

Btw, I have the Evga Precision icon on my desktop if you didn't notice, LOL.

Thanks for the info.

oh haha nice, i hope you registered the gfx card with EVGA for lifetime warranty on their website! i have that g15 2nd gen keyboard so all my gpu temps show on my keyboard lcd i notice yours is on the gadget on the desktop took me awhile to find the temps tho lol. yea it's best to just keep the fan speed set on "auto" it'll do it's best to keep it at moderate temperatures that keep the gfx card safe. oh and these cards turn your computer into nice heat warmers during the cold days XD

i was on my other comp last night, i'm on my good comp right now so currently it's at:
GPU1: 77c
PCB1: 70c
GPU2: 75c
PCB2: 67c
Fan (auto): 45%

also realize my idle temps will be a tad higher cuz i'm always running dual monitor and room temperature counts too. when i usually play a game like l4d2 or something the temps will bump to about 80-90c (being the gfx in-game are maxed out with 1920x1200 res) and my fan will then increase to about 70-80% fan speed *auto*, so i'd just leave it on "auto" it does a good job. i found anything from 1-70% fan speed is moderately quiet, anything above 70% fan speed the fan starts to get reallllly noisy, so for example if i'm not satisfied with my temps right now in idle with "auto" fan speed, i'd usually bump it up to 70% fan speed manually to lower temps and still keep the fan fairly quiet. hope this nerdy info helps lol pm me if you have any other questions ;)
